In the UK alone, 2,500,000,000 paracetamol tablets were reportedly sold in 2003. Paracetamol is taken to reduce fever in people of all ages from pre school kids to adults using medical step stools. The World Health Organization (WHO), however, recommends that paracetamol be give to children only if their temperature is greater than 38.5 °C (101.3 °F).
