3 million ipads have been sold within the first 80 days since Apple released the ipad in April 2010.
The ipad is is assembled by Foxconn in its largest plant in Shenzhen, China.
It is estimated that an iPad 16 GB Wi-Fi version costs apple US$259.60 to manufacture.
