Billion Dollar Computer Virus

In 2004, the ILOVEYOU virus which appeared in May 2000 is still considered as the most costly virus to businesses. The I love you worm reportedly caused not less than 5.5 billion dollars in damage. The worm had the ability to overwrite music files, multimedia files, and more.

Today, most businesses and even private individuals rely on an antivirus software to protect their pc's from malware attacks. Some antivirus protection softwares can slow down computers. Sunbelt Software's VIPRE® Antivirus + Antispyware, however, claims to have the ability to protect netbooks from computer threats without slowing down the system. Other features of this computer security product include advanced anti-rootkit technology and the company does not automatically charge credit cards for subscription each year.
